# Transport Modes

> Each trip records how you got to its city, and your statistics add up how you travel.

Lugara has ten transport modes. Choose Other for anything else, such as a cable car.

## Set the Mode

In a [sentence](https://lugara.me/docs/add-a-trip-in-one-sentence), words such as "flew", "train", "drove", "bus", "boat", "motorcycle", "cycled", or "walked" pick the mode. The one-sentence form needs a mode, while the [classic form](https://lugara.me/docs/add-a-trip-with-the-classic-form) lets you leave it empty. Trips from NomadList come without one, because NomadList doesn't record it.

To change the mode later, [edit the trip](https://lugara.me/docs/edit-or-delete-a-trip) on your profile.

## See How You Travel

The Transport Modes card shows a bubble for each mode, sized by its trips, with the distance from each trip's previous city. The mode doesn't change the distance itself, so a walking trip adds as much as a flight. [Introducing Transport Modes](https://lugara.me/log/introducing-transport-modes) has more on the card.
