# How Lugara Works

> Everything on your Lugara profile comes from the trips you add.

A trip in Lugara is one city, the day you arrived, the day you left, and how you got there. A journey through several cities is one trip per city.

## Add Your Trips

Type a sentence such as "Seoul until the end of the month", fill in a form, import a file, sync from NomadList, or ask an AI assistant. [Ways to Add a Trip](https://lugara.me/docs/ways-to-add-a-trip) links each one, and [How Trip Dates Work](https://lugara.me/docs/trip-dates) covers past, current, and planned trips.

## Your Profile Shows the Rest

From top to bottom, your profile has:

- The globe, with your countries filled in, a marker on each city, and [lines between trips](https://lugara.me/log/map-connections) that follow each other
- Your trips and the places you've been
- Travel Insights, such as your [distance traveled](https://lugara.me/log/calculating-travel-distances) and your [Exploration Score](https://lugara.me/log/exploration-score)
- Your collections, with a flag pin for each country and a card for each continent
- [Potential Tax Residency](https://lugara.me/docs/tax-residency-days), which only you see

Your profile is private until you [make it public](https://lugara.me/docs/make-your-profile-public). Your data is stored in the European Union, and you can [export it](https://lugara.me/docs/export-your-trips) at any time.

## Lugara Pro Removes the Trip Limit

Everything above is free, and a free account holds up to 10 trips. Lugara Pro removes the limit and adds [NomadList sync](https://lugara.me/docs/sync-with-nomadlist), [GitHub sync](https://lugara.me/docs/sync-your-github-location), exports to CSV, Excel, GeoJSON, and KML, and a [globe style](https://lugara.me/log/globe-styles) that visitors see on your profile.
